The After School Arts Program - is thrilled to be participating in this year's Litchfield Jazz Festival's Kid's Zone. ASAP provides opportunities for children in our communities to create, collaborate, and express themselves through exposure to and participation in the arts. Each year ASAP coordinates two wonderful events for Connecticut children: The Celebration of Young Photographers in December and the Celebration of Young Writers event in May. These events are a way to encourage children to share their love of art while giving them recognition for their efforts.Through ASAP's Summer Grant program ASAP has been able to sponsor students to attend the Litchfield Jazz Camp. ASAP also provides financial aid for their numerous summer camps and workshops.
During the Litchfield Jazz Festival, ASAP plans to make instruments from recycled objects as well as have some other fun art projects for the kids to take part in. They'll also be giving away a session to their camp next summer for kids ages 4.5 - 14!! Make sure to stop by and visit!
*Kids Zone activities will take place in a tented area and on the Lawn. Kids Zone activities are free. Face painting will be available for a fee.
