In 2011 Litchfield Jazz Camp began regional combo workshops during the school year – Litchfield in New York and Litchfield in Hartford.
Students experience the joy of playing in a jazz group weekly. Taught by working professional musicians, students focus on jazz repertoire and learn in a casual atmosphere about what makes a working combo excel. They work on their knowledge of tunes, improvising and soloing while growing through team work and comradery. At the end of the session they have a gig in a jazz venue. You don’t have to be a Litchfield Jazz Camp student to join – all are welcome! Sessions are held in the Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring.
A fee of $500 (per session) includes the 10 classes and the final concert.
