Week 4 is now our vocal intensive weeks. All interested vocal students are encouraged to register for this week.

Professional Jazz Singer Nicole Zuraitis will be in residence for the Litchfield Jazz Camp. World-Renowned Instrumentalists include Don Braden and Matt Wilson to name a few. See the complete teaching artist line-up.

Sample daily vocal schedule:

9:00 AM: Vocal Warmups

9:30 AM: Varies. Courses can include:
-Technique
-Singing scales/arpeggios and modes
-Harmonic analysis of jazz standards (i.e. singing bass lines, roots, leading tones)
-Song analysis/lyric analysis
-Sight singing

10:40 AM: Theory

1:00 PM: Working with a Trio
-Students will work with a professional combo where they will focus on performance techniques, workshopping songs for final performance. Each student will have a chance to perform with the trio utilizing skills learned in master class and morning classes
-The Blues:scat singing, learning blues heads

3:15 PM: Master class – varies
-How to lead a band
-Chart writing
-Piano for vocalists (introducing major,minor,diminished,augmented chords in each key)
-Songwriting
-Vocal choir
-Listening lab
