Litchfield Jazz Camp is thrilled to announce the launching of a new partnership with The Kent School in Kent, CT. With the overwhelming response to the camp in 2008 we accepted an invitation to begin a long term association from a prestigious boarding school among "America's best" (Forbes). Kent's gorgeous campus and excellent facilities on the banks of the Housatonic River provide the perfect backdrop for Litchfield Jazz Camp.

The Kent School campus is a minute from the center of Kent, the cultural heart of the Litchfield Hills, with an array of art galleries, cafes, shops and more. Kent is 50 miles west of Hartford, under two hours north of New York City, and three hours from Boston. Kent is equidistant from Laguardia and Bradley International Airports (an hour and a half).

Students live in single-gender dorms. Adults and younger students are housed separately. Resident assistants are on duty each night. Fees include three meals daily for residential and day students. Combo rooms have keyboards and drum kits. Additional practice rooms, some with Steinway pianos, are available. Players are asked to bring their own instruments; if this is not logistically possible instrument rental is available. Guitar and bass players must bring their own amplifiers. Students may register in advance for one private lesson a week for an additional fee.

Outdoor recreational facilities are available. Optional weekend outings are chaperoned. A physician is on call, and the school has a relationship with a nearby hospital. Camp staff are CPR certified. The Litchfield Jazz Camp holds a license from the Connecticut State Department of Public Health, Department of Youth Camps
