2012 Offerings:

Kids Craft Corner for the little ones and interactive dance and music workshops for 12-and-under!

Families have always come in droves to the Litchfield Jazz Festival with children of all ages. It’s an affordable fun day out with lawn tickets only $25 in advance and children 12-and-under FREE. This year the festival rolls out the red-carpet for our youngest attendees with music and movement workshops from our A-list musicians and dancers.

Jazz for Kids (Saturday & Sunday)

Jazz for Kids, a new “mini” workshop will get your youngster grooving with rhythm and improvisation. This fun workshop will get kids involved on percussion instruments such as shakers, wood blocks and tambourines.

Percussion instruments will be provided and you’re welcome to bring your own if you’d like. This fun music circle will be lead by musicians Gary Smulyan (on Saturday 8/11) and Don Braden (on Sunday 8/12).

Dance for Kids (Saturday ONLY)

Dance for Kids, a creative movement session led by Matthew Westerby and his dancers for children to move to the music. Children of any age will learn fun dance moves, play movement games and help to create dances with our four fabulous instructors and each other! Suitable for ages 12 and under. No experience needed for participation. Parents are asked to accompany their children and are encouraged to participate.
