In Memoriam

We lost two jazz giants earlier this month, both of whom we were honored to present. Saxophonist Cornelius “Sonny” Fortune died at 79. Sonny played Litchfield in 2007 with George Cables, Chip Jackson and Steve Johns. Trumpeter Roy Hargrove died at 49. Roy played Litchfield in 2001 with Gerald Cannon,

Celebrating Dave and Iola Brubeck at 2018 LJF

I first saw Dan Brubeck when he was 19 years old. His famous dad was being honored with the Connecticut Arts Award and generously played at the ceremony.  It became a family affair when a tuxedo-clad Dave introduced his young drummer son who also looked the part, with a twist.
