Litchfield Jazz Presents: Eddie Allen – Poli Club Sunday Brunch September 22

Doors open at 10:15 AM. A delicious brunch is served at 11 AM, catered by Chef Charlene of Ciesco, the official caterer of Litchfield Jazz. Music is noon – 2 PM. 

Trumpeter, composer, arranger, author, and educator Eddie Allen plays everything from big band jazz to R&B/pop to Latin, symphonic, Broadway and everything in between.

Allen studied at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and the University of Wisconsin and received his Bachelor’s in Music from William Paterson University. He has worked with legends including Art Blakey, Bette Midler, Joe Henderson, Aretha Franklin, Randy Weston, and others. 

On Broadway he has played in Ain’t Misbehavin,’ Black & Blue, Side Show, Jelly’s Last Jam, Five Guys Named Mo’ and the Color Purple. He currently leads a jazz quartet and quintet, two septets, Salongo and PUSH, and a big band, The Eddie Allen Aggregation. 

The always-entertaining Eddie Allen Quintet performs jazz standards and originals in the tradition of Art Blakey, Horace Silver, and Cannonball Adderley. This Brunch his Quintet members include Eddie Allen, trumpet, Oscar Perez, piano, Elias Bailey, bass, Tim Horner drums and sax, tba.
