About Kris Allen:
Kris Allen is a celebrated saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and recording artist. His latest release, June (Truth Revolution Recording Collective), received a 4.5-star review from Downbeat Magazine. This 2022 album showcases Allen’s evolving original work for a dynamic jazz quartet. The New York City Jazz Record praised his ability to create “strong compositions for a simpatico quartet with its own sound and identity.”
Collaborations & Achievements:
Kris has performed and recorded with notable artists including Illinois Jacquet, Gerald Wilson, and the Mingus Dynasty. His work has earned him several accolades, such as a MacDowell Artist’s Colony fellowship and a Connecticut Office of the Arts fellowship. He serves as an Artist-in-Residence at Williams College and teaches at Litchfield Jazz Camp.
