Influential journalist and jazz critic Nat Hentoff passed away on Saturday January 7. Hentoff wrote for The Village Voice for 50 years. He also write for DownBeat Magazine, The New Yorker, The Washington Post among many others. He was the first jazz critic to be named Jazz Master by the National Endowment of the Arts.
