A Touching Sendoff

Over 100 friends and fans joined us on February 5 to say a musical goodbye to Litchfield Performing Arts co-founder Arthur Muir. Art passed away on January  22nd, and LPA has established a jazz camp scholarship fund in his memory. Gifts are still coming in, and the fund now stands at $12,000!

The organization wants to thank each and every one of the guests who celebrated with us and the donors who gave so generously to help students in need have the chance to attend Litchfield Jazz Camp. By all accounts, Art’s send off was touching and joyous. Music was provided all afternoon long by some of his oldest camp friends including, Albert Rivera, Zwe le Pere, Nick Roseboro, Nicole Zuraitis, Alex Butterworth, Dakota Austin, Andrew Hadro, Ian Carroll, and the great bassist Avery Sharpe. A delicious buffet was provided by Ciesco Catering, Co. and wonderful memories of Art were shared by many friends.

Bon voyage, dear Arthur.
