Giving Tuesday

Initially launched in the US in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become an important annual international day of philanthropy.

With a mission to build a more just and generous world, Giving Tuesday “brings together a global community around the ideals of generosity and collective action”.  The momentum behind GivingTuesday is generated by harnessing the power of social networking.  Not only intended as a day to give monetarily, GivingTuesday is a day to share the causes that matter to you most.  Giving Tuesday is always the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.

We have set a goal of $5,000 for giving Tuesday towards need-based scholarships this coming summer. Since 1997 we have never had to turn away a child in need of financial assistance.  We rely on the generosity of local and regional foundations, and of individual donors to raise scholarship funds each year – an average of $50,000 per year!

Gifts of all sizes make a huge impact. You can help in other ways too!  Create your own fundraiser on social media to benefit Litchfield Performing Arts. Share a story about what Litchfield Jazz Camp means to you, about why you volunteer, donate, teach, or attend.  By sharing your story, both adults (17+) AND kids (13-17+) can help us spread awareness about the impact of Litchfield Jazz Camp and Festival. Click on the documents below to download and learn how your story can help us raise money to send kids to camp this year.

Stay tuned. We will be sending out reminders and more information via email and our social media channels as GivingTuesday arrives.
