Anthony Strong will make his U.S. debut at the 19thAnnual Litchfield Jazz Festival. He is a product of London’s renowned Guildhall School of Music where he paid his way with gigs and sessions with artists like Michael Bolton, Marti Pellow and Beverley Knight. He also spent nine months in the West End as Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet, performing to thousands of theatre-goers, one of them Rod Stewart, who came back the following day and called Strong’s performance “(expletive) Amazing!!” BB King called it, “Real great music.”
Anthony has been in great demand since 2011 when he was featured in BBC’s star-studded New Year’s Eve broadcast Live from The Savoy Ballroom along with American jazz great Buddy Greco. He made his European debut in 2012 with festival performances in France, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Germany and Switzerland as at shows six sold-out shows at the legendary Duc des Lombards Jazz Club in Paris.
Anthony Strong has three albums as a leader, the latest of which Stepping Out was a #1 seller on iTunes this Fall. Anthony will appear on the Litchfield Jazz Festival backed by Avery Sharpe on bass and Cory Cox on drums.
